Jenny Hill's artworks have a strong narrative element often influenced, but not exclusively, by events and seasons in rural East Essex.
Three continuing threads in Jenny's art practice are drawing to explore and investigate, painting for colour, light and discovery. Printing is used to combine elements of colour and line and the simplification and abstraction of subject matter.
Jenny's subject matter may initially appear diverse but they are connected in a communication of place and time or seasons
In addition to Jenny's art practice she also creates workshops or short courses of drawing, painting, acrylic, mixed media, oils. As an invited tutor she leads introductory or experimental workshops in life drawing, abstraction and mixed media for art groups. A qualified adult education art tutor she gained much of her teaching experience with adult community colleges in Essex. Jenny organises monthly non tutored life drawing and clothed figure sessions in Maldon, Essex, working with professional models and other artists.
