Cherryann Hall

Cherry is originally from the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, which, has given her a deep love for trees and nature.
Becoming an Artist rather late in life her mid 40's, she would like to say she is mostly self taught , but has been influenced by lots of Artists and friends - attending summer schools at Central Saint Martin's London, West Dean Chichester, City Lite London, Cuckoo Farm Colchester, First Site Colchester.

To quote Jean Cooke RA :-
"Sometimes I paint to show off
sometimes to hide away in solitude
sometimes to say 'ere I am'
sometimes to say I want to be alone.

Cherry's work has been described as prolific and loose and is inspired by Artists such as Matisse and Picasso. Cherry uses mixed media in her paintings and also enjoys Contemporary Craft and Textile Art.

Moving to Essex at the age of 10, it was the recurring feeling of being "emotionally and "geographically displaced that started her essexgirl themed paintings'.

Cherry creates daily to express her journey through this life.
